Make a difference

By: Elizabeth Silence Ballard  As she stood in front of her 5 th grade class on the first day of school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. However, that was impossible, because there in the front row, slimped in his seat was a little boy named Teddy Stallard. Miss Thopmson had watched teddy the year before and noticed that he didn’t play well with other children that his clothes were messy, and that he constantly needed as bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant. Support

Support is a speech material that clarifies  or backs up an assertion. Se7en techniques of support: 1. Explanation - is an exposition that makes an idea clear and intelligible. 2. Analogy or Comparison - is a form of explanation that points similarities between something which is known and something which is not. 3. Illustration - is a detailed example in narrative form of an idea. 4. Specific Instance or Specific Reference - is a briefly stated example. 5. Statistics - are numerical data about a state of affairs. 6. Testimony - is the statement of a person, who is usually prominent, that favors a certain assertion. 7.
